Knox and Rastovich to contest the Grand Champions Final of the 2014 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy Today

Kuda Huraa, Maldives: The 2014 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy will finalize today, with the ultimate showdown in the Grand Champions Final to be staged between Taylor Knox (USA), 43, and Dave Rastovich (Aus), 35.

Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich (AUS) ready to contest his first Surfing Champions Trophy.



The Maldivian Champions Trophy, will kick start today’s surfing action at Sultans Point at 3.30 pm (local time).  The top four local surfers from the Island Nation will contest their final just prior to the main event.

Seasoned elite tour campaigner, Knox, will be out for back-to-back wins when he takes on world renowned free surfer Rastovich.

Taylor Knox (USA) hoping for back-to-back wins at his second Surfing Champions Trophy event.



Knox, wins in both the Thruster and Twin-Fin Rounds plus his fifth place finish in the Single-Fin division, accrued him enough points to qualify for the Grand Champions Final.  Rastovich, put on an exhibition of classic surfing to win the Single-Fin Round, locked in a second in the Twin-Fins and a third in the Thrusters, to secure his finals berth.

Surf conditions are again expected to be clean, 1.5 meters waves at Sultans Point.
