Kuda Huraa, Maldives: Professional free-surfer Dave ‘Rasta’ Rastovich, (Aus) 35, defeated seasoned campaigner Taylor Knox, 43, (USA) in the Grand Final of the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy today to be crowned the 2014 champion.

Kuda Huraa, Maldives: The 2014 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy will finalize today, with the ultimate showdown in the Grand Champions Final to be staged between Taylor Knox (USA), 43, and Dave Rastovich (Aus), 35.

Kuda Huraa, Maldives: In a hard fought final, Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy title defender, Taylor Knox (USA), 43, edged out Sunny Garcia (Haw), 44, to win the Thruster Round in glassy 1.5 meter (three- to five-foot) waves at Sultan’s Point in the Maldives to qualify for the Grand Champions Final tomorrow (Aug. 10).


Competition will Resume Today with Third and Final Round

Kuda Huraa, Maldives: Competition will resume today, in the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy, with the three-fin Thruster division at Sultan Point in the Maldives at 10am (local time).

The third and final round of the 2014 event, will feature state-of-the-art contemporary equipment and be staged in pulsing 1.5 metre (3-5ft) reef break waves.


Lay-Day in the Maldives

Kuda Huraa, Maldives: Following two consecutive days of competition in the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy, a lay-day has been called today. The tournament will be finalized over the weekend with a swell increase predicted for Sultans Point.
